Why choose a coach for your grief? What does a coach do?
Following the loss of a child, countless questions can flood your mind: Why? Why me? What happens now? How can I survive this?
In the weight of such overwhelming grief, it can feel impossible to imagine a future—let alone believe one still exists.
I want you to know this: there is a future, even if it feels completely invisible right now.
Through my own personal journey with grief, I have come to understand the depth of pain that child loss brings—and the quiet strength it takes to keep going. I also know that healing does not mean forgetting, “moving on,” or leaving your child behind. It means learning how to live again while carrying love, meaning, and connection forward.
As a grief coach, I walk alongside you with compassion, patience, and understanding. Together, we will gently explore where you are now, reconnect you with your inherent worth, and begin uncovering what a purposeful and fulfilling life can look like for you—at your pace, in your way.
Why I am a coach
I live in Cornwall, England, with my partner, surrounded by the natural beauty that shapes our daily lives. Together, we care for a small holding that includes horses, goats, poultry, and our treasured dogs. Our days are deeply rooted in the love of the natural world and the animals we nurture.
My journey has been varied, enriched by a wide range of life experiences – from farming and rural life to being a mother, a receptionist, an educator, and a therapist. Each of these roles has taught me resilience, empathy, and the importance of connection – both with people and with nature.
The experiences of the past few years, especially during and after COVID, have highlighted how privileged I am to live and work in such an enchanting environment – a privilege not available to everyone. My own encounters with grief and trauma have been profoundly influenced and healed by animals and the natural world. This has strengthened my desire to share these experiences with others, helping them find solace, connection, and renewal through nature and animal-assisted interactions.
'Thank you so much Cheryl....you are such an amazingly kind person ' from a grieving client
Healing Your Trauma Welcome At our smallholding, we offer Animal Assisted Therapy for all ages and abilities, with a special focus on supporting neurodiverse clients and those recovering from grief or trauma. Our therapies provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children and families can explore, grow, and begin healing at their own pace. My journey into this work comes from personal experience. After experiencing a sudden trauma that left both my partner and me with PTSD, I found support through counselling and spiritual therapies. This journey helped me heal past wounds, including the loss of my first-born child, experiences of narcissistic abuse, and patterns of co-dependency. It also gave me a deep understanding of the challenges that many families and individuals face every day. Having walked this path, I know how overwhelming life’s hurdles can feel. My goal is to help you find balance, clarity, and fulfillment, so that you and your family can thrive. Holding space for your deepest pain with compassion and understanding. Together, we navigate the landscape of loss at your own pace.
From these experiences I have a desire to help more people who have life struggles, to assist them to find their true selves and like me, enjoy success and fulfilment in all areas of their lives.
